Some Essentials We Believe
CHURCH The church is the body of Christ, made up of born again, baptized believers in Jesus Christ. It is a sharing fellowship that worships God, teaches and sustains each other through the power and love of the Holy Spirit.
BAPTISM The immersion of believers as a symbol representing our death to sin, burial of the old way of life and rising to the new way of life. It is an ordinance of the church which provides each believer the opportunity to act out physically what has happened to him or her spiritually. Baptism does not save but is the first obedient act of a new Christian.
LORD'S SUPPER The second ordinance of the church. It is a symbolic meal made of bread which represents the body of Christ and unfermented grape juice which represents the blood of Christ. Our congregation observes the Lord Supper once a quarter and is open to all who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. SALVATION Salvation is the secure gift of God to all who accept His Son as Savior. It is forgiveness from the penalty of sin; the ongoing process of victory over the power of sin; and the promise of victory over the future judgement of those, who of their own free will, deny Jesus as their Savior.
CHRISTIAN A Christian is a born again believer in Jesus Christ. He or she has been saved by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Christian is identified with the "body of Christ" and has the responsibility of spiritual growth and service.
GOD God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: God the Father; God the Son; and, God the Holy Spirit. We refer to this as the Trinity.

Our Worship Band plays the good old country gospel songs and is made up of a banjo, fiddle, dobro, several kinds of guitars and a key board. Our music style is hymn book singing of the old favorites. We are blessed with many talented people who do our special music each week. Music is very important to us. If you have a musical talent, there is a place for you at Friendly Baptist Church.
Our Singles are very active in Sunday School. They support each other and hold each other up in good times and bad times. They sponsor a weekly Family and Fun Night for the whole church each Thursday evening. They go to lunch together each Sunday and have special social outing each month. They are a very active singles group. If you are searching for a place to be together with other singles, there is a place for you at Friendly Baptist Church.
Our Couples Sunday School classes, the Saints Alive and Word Seekers, have monthly fellowships that usually includes a meal. If you are a couple looking for fellowship with other couples, there is a place for you at Friendly Baptist Church.
Children and Youth Departments will grow strong as young couples join us in our ministry. If you feel called to lead children and youth ministries, there is a place for you at Friendly Baptist Church.
